This 11-piece fashion collection, created for the fashion design capstone course, debuted on the runway at UC Davis’s annual Picnic Day Fashion Show.

Titled Push My Buttons, this collection is a reflection of my inner dialogue and the ways I heal, telling the story of my relationship with sewing and how it gives me the opportunity to process my thoughts. For me, sewing is a meditative process that allows me to escape from the world around me. However, with all of the time spent sewing, escaping, and healing, there have been many layers built up, protecting the person underneath. Throughout the collection, the many buttons are both functional and decorative, making it hard for the wearer to escape the cocoon they put themselves in. The name, Push My Buttons, is a nod to this aspect, showing why these layers were built in the first place, while at the same time calling out for someone to break through them.
